Simonetta Stefanelli Undressed
Simonetta Stefanelli (born November 30, 1954) is an Italian actress who was born in Rome, Italy. Stefanelli is known outside Italy for her role in ''The Godfather'' (1972), in which she plays Apollonia Vitelli-Corleone, Michael Corleone's (played by Al Pacino) wife for a short while before she is killed by a car bomb intended for Michael. She also appeared in more than a dozen Italian films, sometimes in leading roles. In her most recent film, the 1992 movie ''Le Amiche del Cuore'' (a.k.a. Close Friends), she plays the character Giuliana. She appears topless in both ''The Godfather'' and the March 1974 issue of Playboy Magazine.

I read that she and Al Pacino had very little time together while making the movie. She didn't speak any English and Pacino was much older than she. Simonetta was quoted as saying that other than their scenes together they had little contact of any personal nature. So, I read. But, she is still a beauty and was perfect for the role. She has made a number of movies in Italy. Too bad we can not appreciate her today at age 54. Larry from Illinois
