Carol Vitale (born November 14, 1948, in Elizabeth, New Jersey) is an American model. She was ''Playboy'' magazine's Playmate of the Month for its July 1974 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by David Chan.
Carol grew up in New Jersey with six brothers and sisters. She had a very wholesome childhood and was close to her maternal grandparents. When she turned 18, she and a friend moved to Florida to pursue modeling careers. Carol found work right away posing for Oldsmobile and was a finalist in the Miss Florida-World contest.
Carol was working at the Playboy Club in Miami Beach at the time of her ''Playboy'' photo session. Her pictorial was titled "Beach Blonde", possibly because of her love for the beach. In all, she appeared in three ''Playboy'' pictorials, as well as the cover of the August 1972 issue, nearly a year before she was a Playmate.
She was with the Playboy Club for five years and was very proud of her work there. By 1979, Carol had decided that she needed a change of pace and moved to Los Angeles. She found a job with the publicity department of Universal Studios.
In the early 1980s, Carol became interested in broadcasting, and learned the ropes at KISS-FM, a Los Angeles radio station. This led to her getting her very own talk show.
''The Carol Vitale Show'' ran for 11 years on the USA Network. Her interview subjects were mostly film stars, ''Playboy'' Playmates and authors. In 1998, Hugh Hefner himself was a guest on the show.
Lately, Carol has developed a line of sensual lingerie that are sold through Frederick's of Hollywood and ''Playboy''. She spends much of her time on her own website, www.carolvitale.com, continues to model and attends ''Playboy'' events. In addition, her talk show remains in syndication. Carol owns two homes and divides her time between Los Angeles and Miami.
